How mix pricing works at our Nakameguro studio

Mix quotes confuse when track count, stem exports and revision rounds are vague. At Lefsenlayerco we price Mixing with published rates—¥24,200 per stereo mix, ¥8,800 for an extra stem pack, ¥11,000 for attended time—and this guide shows how those lines appear on your estimate.

What the base track fee covers

The ¥24,200 line is a stereo mix built from your multitracks: level balance, panning, EQ, dynamics and spatial effects to a finished two-track WAV ready for Mastering or release prep. It assumes material recorded at sensible levels without clipping, with a clear arrangement and no surprise extra songs on the same invoice.

We include up to 2 revision rounds unless your quote states otherwise. A round means consolidated notes on one pass—level tweaks, mute a double, soften reverb—not a full new arrangement. Structural changes (new parts, different tempo) need a new scope and may move to hourly work at ¥11,000.

Stem packs and alternate mixes

When you need instrument groups for a remixer, TV sync or live playback, we export stem packs: drums, bass, music, vocals or custom groups as agreed. Each additional pack beyond the first included set is ¥8,800 VAT included. Tell us the grouping on booking so exports match your DAW session.

Clean TV tracks, instrumental versions or a cappella exports count as separate deliverables if they require extra mutes, edits or mastering-ready stems. Mention them before the first mix pass to avoid re-opening the session later at hourly rates.

Attended sessions vs offline

Most clients send files and receive a link to a first mix. If you want to sit in the control room, booked time is ¥11,000 per hour with an engineer. Attended time suits detailed arrangement decisions, language nuance for narration or artists who prefer immediate feedback.

Offline mixing uses the same quality chain; you simply comment by email or form. We still document notes per revision round. Evening attendance follows Tuesday–Saturday 10:00–22:00; closed Monday and Sunday. Evening sessions by appointment. and must be scheduled—walk-ins cannot be guaranteed.

How track count is counted

One commercial song with the same backing is one track, even if you deliver multiple vocal comps—we pick or comp in the mix prep. Different songs, versions with new instrumentation, or long-form podcast segments billed separately each count as their own line item.

EPs and albums receive line-by-line quotes: six songs mean six ¥24,200 entries unless a bundle is written on the estimate. Services lists current numbers; bundles like our EP mastering cap do not automatically apply to mixing.

VAT, deposits and payment

Displayed rates include 10% consumption tax. Business clients may ask for net figures such as ¥22,000 on invoices with registration number T2191987676523. A 30% deposit can hold calendar slots; balance is due before delivery unless terms specify 30-day transfer for approved companies.

Late file delivery does not reduce the fee if the engineer blocked the day. Rush turnaround within 48 hours may incur an extra line—ask when submitting stems.

File hygiene that protects your budget

Label tracks clearly: Kick In, Bass DI, Lead Vox, etc. Note sample rate and bit depth; we prefer 48 kHz / 24-bit WAV aligned to session start. Remove master bus processing on stems unless intentional. Include a rough mix or reference URL with modest level.

Zip archives with README files beat dozens of chat attachments. If you need us to edit multitracks extensively before mixing, book edit time or discuss on FAQ—otherwise prep time eats revision rounds.
